10/28/05 Refinery CEMS Upgrades Awarded as Extension of Maintenance Services
A West Coast Refinery has awarded Mangan the project to replace and modernize seven (7) of the plants twenty seven (27) CEMS. These will include several complete replacements and several re-builds. The work includes all engineering, integration, construction, testing, commissioning and certification. Also included is the follow-on turnkey maintenance, which will be an extension of the comprehensive emissions and process analyzer maintenance services Mangan has provided the Refinery for over 10 years.
10/14/05 Gulf Coast Tank Farm Gauging Turnkey Project Awarded
A Gulf Coast Chemical Plant has awarded Mangan the project to replace the current 200+ tank farm gauging system with a FieldBus based system built on a fiber optic communication backbone. The project is awarded turnkey; Mangan will provide all engineering, procurement and construction. Scheduled to begin immediately, the work will be based out of the Mangan Lake Jackson office, and is scheduled to be ready for cut-over in six months.
10/6/05 Products Pipeline Batch Cut Optimization Pilot Installation Kick-Off
Mangan and a West Coast Products Pipeline are testing a pipeline batch cutting optimization system. Developed and patented (pending) by Mangan, this system hopes to provide pipelines with the ability to pre-define and automate batch cut points. This will reduce trans-mix and re-grades, as well as allow the pipelines better control of the upcoming ultra low sulfur diesel shipments.
10/3/05 West Coast Refinery Alliance Extended for FCC Precipitator I&C Services
A West Coast Refinery has selected Mangan to provide all Instrument and Control engineering for their Refinery FCC Modernization. The project will replace the existing precipitators and modernize control and safety systems. Mangan will perform the work in conjunction with a major E&C, and as an extension of the Specialty Alliance Program between Mangan and the Refinery for over 5 years.

11/8/04 Refinery Shipping System Upgrade
Mangan has been contracted to provide engineering services to document an existing relay based shipping system logic and migrate to new PLC's.
11/1/04 Fast Track Refinery Compressor Panels
Mangan is working with a major refinery to replace an existing utilities PLC control panel. This will include retrofit of existing conduit. This project is on a fast track schedule to meet an early December turnaround requirement.
11/1/04 Multidiscipline FCC/Alky Unit MOV Upgrades
A west coast refinery has contracted Mangan to retrofit existing MOV's with actuators, as well as adding new MOV's. Mangan's work scope includes Piping design, I&E design, and PLC configuration.

10/1/04 Offshore PIMS Implementation
Mangan has just completed Factory Acceptance Testing and is preparing for a November site installation of a new Plant Information Management system (PIMS) on an Oil and Gas platform in Trinidad. This is the second 2004 offshore PIMS implementation that Mangan is completing for this particular Oil and Gas Producer.

9/1/04 Mangan Awarded DCS Automation Project
An East Texas Paper Mill has contracted Mangan to convert a secondary Fiber units panel mounted control to DCS controls. Mangan is responsible for design, configuration, testing, and cutover planning for the project that
will be timed with other Mill projects. The award of this project follows Mangan's successful completion of the Paper Machine DCS migration in 2002.

8/25/04 West Coast Refinery contracts Mangan for new Central Control Room Project
Mangan will participate as a part of a blended owner / contractor team to develop the front end engineering, to be followed by the detailed engineering and integration for a new Central Control Room. The project will combine several local control rooms, upgrade the facility to a new hybrid distributed control system, and add safety systems to several operating units. The contract is an extension to an Automation Alliance Program that has been in place for years now.
8/18/04 Southeastern Pipeline Company recognizes Mangans
Jacob Depuydt for excellent project performance
Mr Depuydt, a Project Engineer for Mangan, has been working on the automation of delivery stations for a major southeastern pipeline operator. The commissioning of over 50 enhancements to delivery controls has been integrated successfully along the dozens of pipeline terminals. The pipeline company project manager recognized Jakes skills and work ethic, saying: "I know I have said it before but Jake is invaluable to this project and our success."

7/10/04 West Coast Refinery kicks-off SRP Upgrade projects,
selecting Mangan for all integration work
A major West Coast Refinery has given the green light to Instrument Modernization Projects for their Sulfur Recovery Plant. DCS Upgrades, multiple new Safety Instrument Systems and associated process control and instrumentation installations will be included in the program that will provide the Refinery with improved reliability. Mangan will provide the engineering, integration, procurement and construction management, training, commissioning and follow-on support for the program.

6/16/04 West Coast Refinery selects Mangan for DCS Migration FEL work
The emerging need for DCS Migrations has justified a West Coast Refinerys selection of Mangan to provide Front End Loading services for their program. The FEL will evaluate system architectural and installation options and provide the basis for developing the next decade DCS Migration roadmap. Mangan will draw on their expertise in Automation Project FEL development as well as their research into the costs and benefits of the various vendor approaches to the newest releases of control system hardware and software.

5/15/04 Eastern Pipeline Company selects Mangan to integrate
major Tank Farm Automation system
The automation of Tank Farm operation and management affords pipeline operators improved reliability and operating efficiency. These objective have justified an Easter Pipeline Company selecting Mangan to design, integrate and commission an S88 based control system. The new control and information platform will automate batch scheduling, control and reporting, with easy to operate features. The implementation and cut-over is planned for 2004 year end.
5/1/04 First Mangan retiree vests out of the ESOP program
David Eslick, an 11 year Mangan employee announced his retirement, and therefore becomes the first Mangan employee to qualify for a fully vested ESOP retirement benefit. Mangans ESOP passed the 5 year anniversary early 2004, and thus all employees whose employment preceded that date have attained the 5 year cliff vesting criteria. Dave and Stella plan to move to Arizona, and look forward to the additional retirement funding that their share of the company stock will provide.

4/10/04 National Pipeline Company awards a series of terminal security projects to Mangan
As a part of the nations increased prevention and readiness programs, a major national pipeline company is installing state of the art security systems on many pipeline station facilities. Mangan has been selected to provide the installations on a turnkey basis. The sole source selection is the result of over a dozen recent automation projects successfully completed by Mangan for the pipeline operator. The ability to perform these safely, on schedule, and at an attractively efficient cost justified the selection.

3/15/04 International Biotech Company selects Mangan to implement
Automation System remediation recommendations.
Recently Mangan was asked to provide audit and remediation consulting services for the grass roots installation of a major biotech production facility. The facility managements confidence in the resulting recommendations has provided the basis for them to request Mangan staff to take the next step and perform the remediation work. This will include automation system design, configuration and validation services provided on a fast track basis.

2/12/04 Mangan names new Company Management
In the next step of the evolution planned when Mangan became an employee owned company, company management has announced a significant reorganization. Dick Mangan will relinquish his day to day involvement to a new management team led by Nigel James. Nigel has been with the company for 5 years, building the Texas presence via James-Mangan Automation. Dick will move to part time involvement and give attention to the companys long term objectives.

1/18/04 Mangan passes $100 Million project value milestone
Calculating revenue on an as-earned basis, Mangan management announced that the company passed the $100 million milestone. An expanded industry and geographic focus has driven revenue to over $15MM per year, providing confidence that the next $100 Million will be passed before 2010. Dick Mangan commented:
"When we started we couldnt fathom being a $1MM per year company. Over the years we have benefited from having relationships with outstanding clients. 1/15/04 Mangan commissions first THUMS Island to new automation system
As the largest US installation of Siemens PCS7 hybrid control system becomes a reality, Mangan passed the first operational milestone with the commissioning of the Island Chaffee system. The 2500 tag system for the islands 200 producing wells, treatment and re-injection processes has been designed, integrated, installed and commissioned on a turnkey basis by the Mangan staff.

12/10/03 International Oil Production Company benefits from
Mangans audit and repair of an oil platform control system
An International Oil Company recently selected Mangan to diagnose and recommendation solutions for a deepwater production platform control system. The system was newly installed but had been experiencing daily fatal system crashes. The comprehensive audit yielded dozens of remedial actions. These have been prioritized, performed, and the systems integrity has improved, allowing the company to accept ownership and commission the platform.
